Lone Star Power Solutions — Houston, TX
Houston metro licensed master electricians — residential backup power built for hurricane season and Texas grid reality.
About Lone Star Power Solutions — Houston, TX
Lone Star Power Solutions serves the Greater Houston metropolitan area — a ten-person crew based out of a Spring Branch shop, covering CenterPoint Energy’s entire residential service territory from The Woodlands in the north to Clear Lake in the south. We’ve installed GenerLink systems on more than eleven hundred homes since 2019.
The 2021 winter storm changed how every Texan thinks about backup power. We’ve been answering that demand ever since. Our core residential product is a GenerLink retrofit — no engineering, no fuel tank, no enclosure, no exterior construction, just a second meter socket behind the existing CenterPoint meter that accepts a portable generator when the grid fails. For customers who need more capacity, we also handle full standby generator installs with automatic transfer switches. Site assessments are free and typically scheduled within a week of first contact.
Hurricane season (June through November) is our busiest stretch — but the 2021 freeze demonstrated that Texas grid events are not limited to Atlantic tropical systems. We staff a 24/7 emergency dispatch line year-round and prioritize homes with residents on home oxygen, dialysis, or other medically-dependent equipment. Every install is permitted through the City of Houston or applicable municipality, every inspection passes first try, and every job ends with a homeowner walkthrough.
Services We Offer
Service Area
We serve the entire Greater Houston metropolitan area: Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston, and southern Waller counties. Primary radius extends from The Woodlands and Conroe north, Katy and Fulshear west, Pearland and League City south, and Baytown east.
Residential GenerLink installs within 30 miles of the 610 loop carry no travel fee. Far-north Montgomery County (Willis, Montgomery) and southern Brazoria County (Lake Jackson, Angleton) include a $75 trip fee waived on completion. We don't service rural properties more than 60 miles from downtown Houston — for those we can refer to partner electricians.
What Customers Say
February 2021 we went six days without power or running water. Newborn in the house. I swore it would never happen again. Lone Star came out the week we called, did a free site visit on a Saturday, had us installed within three weeks. Beryl in 2024 — we were the only house on our street with lights. Called four neighbors over to shower.— Jessica, Katy, TX
My father's on home oxygen. We cannot afford a multi-day outage and we definitely cannot afford the anxiety of waiting through one. The GenerLink plus a quality portable generator cost us less than a third of what three other contractors quoted for a full standby system — and meets our actual need. They listened. Rare.— David, Sugar Land, TX
Clean, professional, permit handled, CenterPoint meter swap scheduled without any coordination on our end. The crew was on time, wore bootcovers in the house, explained everything twice, and the tech support follow-up six months later when I had a question about generator oil type was genuinely helpful. Easy recommendation.— Robert, The Woodlands, TX
